Heavy rainfall has begun in various parts of Karachi, with the meteorological department predicting more showers over the weekend. The city’s outskirts, including Kathore, Gadap, and surrounding areas, have already experienced significant rainfall. Rain with thunder and lightning recorded in areas of Gulshan-e-Hadeed, Malir, Safora, Model Colony, and Saadi Town. Similarly, Defence, Scheme 33, Shahrah-e-Faisal, Tariq Road and North Nazimabad have also witnessed rain with thunder. According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, the monsoon system is expected to bring rain from Friday through Sunday. Additionally, low-lying areas of Sukkur, Larkana, Mirpurkhas, Hyderabad, and Karachi are also expected to experience urban flooding on June 27 and 28.
