The film blends dark comedy, political satire, and action, showcasing DiCaprio in a disheveled, eccentric role. The trailer begins with Bob, dressed in a bathrobe and beanie, struggling to remember codewords while using a payphone to call for backup. Benicio del Toro plays Bob’s unconventional mentor, who teaches him how to live without fear—at one point, throwing him from a moving car.
The trailer ends with Bob and his allies preparing for battle, shouting “Viva la revolución!” Produced by Warner Bros., One Battle After Another was shot on 35mm film using VistaVision cameras, with filming in California and El Paso, Texas.
Reports indicate a production budget between $100 million and $140 million, making it Anderson’s most expensive film. This marks DiCaprio’s first lead role since Killers of the Flower Moon (2023), while Anderson, an 11-time Oscar nominee, seeks his first Academy Award win. One Battle After Another hits theaters on September 26, with exclusive IMAX screenings.
