Policeman guarding anti-polio team in Quetta injured in firing incident

A policeman was injured in firing incident by unknown gunmen in Quetta, officials said on Friday, officials said on Friday. According to the police, armed men riding on a motorcycle opened fire at the policeman deputed on the security of polio workers in the Eastern Bypass area. The attack comes during a week-long campaign in Balochistan to administer the polio vaccination to approximately 2.6 million children under five years of age. Earlier on Tuesday, two policemen deployed for polio duty were killed and at least three others injured during a gunfight with unidentified armed persons in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s Bannu district.
