Man caught from graveyard after killing, trying to bury US citizen wife

Police in Lahore have apprehended a man for killing and then attempting to bury his wife, an American citizen, Express News reported on Sunday.  According to Express News, the man was arrested from the cemetary near the Bandianwala Bridge in the Lahore Factory Area where the body of the American woman was about to be buried. SP Cantonment Owais Shafiq said the police responded promptly to a call made to the 15 emergency helpline, which led to the arrest.  Read also: Eight-year-old orphan girl abducted, murdered in Islamabad He said that the suspect, identified as Kazim Kamal Khan, was attempting to bury the deceased, Diana Christo Khan, during the wee hours of Saturday when he was spotted by local residents who promptly alerted the authorities. The police, along with a forensic team, gathered evidence from the spot and launched an investigation into various aspects of the case. Subsequently, the body was transported to the mortuary for a post-mortem examination using an Edhi ambulance. Police said that, according to their initial investigation, it appeared that the suspect had subjected his wife to physical  torture leading to her death. Further investigation and forensic examination will reveal further details of the case, they said.  A case has been registered against the accused on the police's complaint and further investigation is underway.
